Glitch Productions today unveiled its collaboration with esteemed YouTube personality and showrunner, director and writer Ross O’Donovan (RubberRoss) alongside writer Arin Hanson (Co-Founder, Game Grumps) for the development and full-series release of the 2D animated series Gameoverse, with the pilot releasing in May 2026.
In this colorful action-comedy, our hero, Kit and her sidekick Kaboodle hop around different video game worlds which are … horrifically exploding. And saving them means helping the bad guy stop the good guy, or everyone dies.
“Partnering with Ross O’Donovan to bring their full creative vision for Gameoverse is an exciting next-step for Glitch in our mission to uplift and showcase the creative strength of indie animation,” said Kevin Lerdwichagul, CEO of Glitch Prod. “Luke [Lerdwichagul] and I first saw an early animatic of Gameoverse back in 2017, and were immediately struck by its world-building, creativity and depth. So, when the chance to collaborate on it came up, there was zero hesitation.
“There is a unique parallel in the way Ross and Glitch have forged our paths within the indie animation space, and we’re proud to showcase this bold, poignant series to our shared communities. With the release of Gameoverse‘s pilot in May 2026, this is Glitch doubling down on our commitment to amplifying passionate indie projects to both our dedicated fanbase and new audiences.”
Gameoverse‘s voice cast spans animation and YouTube standouts, including Erica Lindbeck (Helluva Boss, Smiling Friends) as Kit, JSchlatt (YouTuber/Streamer) as Kaboodle, Chris Sabat (Dragon Ball Z) as Warrick, Arin Hanson (Game Grumps) as Gobbles/Flappers, Elsie Lovelock (Hazbin Hotel, Murder Drones) as Ms. Information and Michael Cusack (co-creator of Smiling Friends) as Snappers.
The show also features an original score from composers Grant Kirkhope (Banjo Kazooie, Goldeneye 007) and Jake Kaufman (Shovel Knight, Shantae), blending video game nostalgia and uneasy suspense into Kit’s world-saving mission.
O’Donovan’s career spans multiple online projects including popular animated series for Newgrounds under internet alias RubberNinja, a seven-year stint on the popular YouTube channel Game Grumps and a personal streaming (456K+ on Twitch) and YouTube presence that boasts over 2.3 million followers and 267 million views under the alias RubberRoss.
“In 2015 I started putting together the plans for what would be Gameoverse. Over those 11 years I put together many versions of what this show could be,” said O’Donovan. “Luckily, Kevin and Luke while visiting L.A. managed to see one of them in 2017. There were many times we spoke about the potential of working together, but it always came down to one thing. This had to be a 2D show. When Glitch approached me again about doing this show with them and it being 2D, it was a no brainer. I decided to start from scratch with my writing partner and friend, Arin Hanson.
“Thanks to Glitch, what we’ve made is truly the greatest version of this show that we could’ve ever conceived. I feel incredibly privileged to be able to finally share it with the world and get to create amazing animation with my hugely talented team. I’ve been a part of the online animation scene for over two decades now and never could I have imagined my dream project finding a better home than with Glitch. Thank you to everyone who supported me and got me to this point. I hope you enjoy your adventures in the Gameoverse.”
On its quest to self-fund and independently produce creator-driven animated properties, Sydney-based Glitch has already delivered a number of buzzy YouTube-first fan-favorites, including Knights of Guinevere (16 million+ reviews), The Amazing Digital Circus (1.014 billion views and counting), Murder Drones and The Gaslight District.
In their ninth year, Glitch Productions content remains fiercely independent, whilst also showcased globally across major streaming platforms Netflix and Prime Video. The studio was founded in 2017 by brothers Kevin and Luke Lerdwichagul.
