‘My Hero Academia’ Anime Powers Up Year of Celebrations for 10th Anniversary

Toho Co., Ltd. has officially unveiled the first major announcements tied to the My Hero Academia The Animation 10th Anniversary. The upcoming global celebration honoring 10 years of the hit anime adaptation of Kohei Horikoshi’s bestselling manga was announced at this year’s Jump Festa. Marking a decade since the anime premiered in April 2016, the franchise enters a new milestone year with a special teaser visual, a commemorative anniversary logo, the reveal of a brand-new extra episode, and the first details of a worldwide concert tour launching in 2026.

The 10th anniversary festivities arrive following a historic year for the franchise. Horikoshi’s manga, which has sold 100 million copies worldwide, concluded in August after a decade-long serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump, closing out the story of Izuku Midoriya, the quirkless boy who rose to become the greatest hero alongside his classmates at U.A. High School. The anime adaptation recently aired its final episode on December 13, capping eight seasons, 170 episodes, four films and a legacy of unforgettable battles and characters.

During Jump Festa, Toho debuted the official 10th-anniversary logo, teaser visual and a newly launched landing page designed as the hub for all anniversary updates throughout 2026. The anniversary visual, produced by Bones Films and illustrated by longtime character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi, showcases ten versions of Deku across his evolving hero’s journey.

“We are incredibly proud to celebrate 10 years of My Hero Academia with fans around the world,” said a Toho spokesperson. “This milestone represents not only a decade of unforgettable stories, heroic characters, and epic battles, but also the incredible support and passion of our global audience.”

As part of the anniversary content lineup, a brand-new episode titled “More” will premiere on May 2, 2026, and will stream exclusively on Crunchyroll worldwide (excluding Asia). Adapted from the manga’s 431st chapter, which was exclusively included in the final volume, the episode follows Deku and his classmates eight years after graduating from U.A., expanding the story beyond the anime’s original final episode. Anticipation for an animated adaptation of this chapter has been high since the anime’s conclusion, making “More” one of the most anticipated highlights of the 10th anniversary project.

The tour will start on May 30, 2026, at Pacifico Yokohama before expanding to international venues. Further dates, ticket details, and global tour stops will be announced soon. My Hero Academia The Animation 10th Anniversary will officially begin on April 3, 2026, exactly 10 years after the anime’s first broadcast. Additional projects, collaborations, events, and announcements will follow as the celebration continues into 2026.
