If you thought Miss America contestants were unreal, wait until you see the babes suiting up to walk the runway at the first-ever Miss Digital World competition. Making the ideal beauty is no longer weird science as 3D modelers sculpt polygons into dream girls and parade them before judges, according to Italian web site Fullpress (www.fullpress.it).
The Competition is the brainchild of Franz Cerami, event designer at Synthetic Panoramas, Monumedia and Corto Circuit. Promoted by Monumedia and the Virtuality Conference of Turin, Miss Digital World will take place on the Internet at www.missdigitalworld.com, where the atmosphere of a typical beauty pageant will be reproduced in 3D space with the assistance of virtual hosts. Web surfers will then be able to vote for their favorite pixel-packing paragons of beauty.
Interested babe builders can pre-register at www.virtualityconference.it. Eligibility requirements state that the character must not have appeared in pornographic materials and that the creator owns all rights to the character. The winner will be awarded next November at Virtuality 2004 in Turin. For more information, e-mail email@example.com.
