Watch: Animators Share #MeToo Perspective in ‘Full Frontal’ Segment

In Wednesday night’s episode of Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, the host returned to the unfortunately frequent topic of sexual harassment in the workplace and the #MeToo movement, this time opening a platform for “nerdy cartoonist girls” to share their stories about breaking into the Toon Town boys’ club.

Introducing a clip featuring storyboard artists Megan Nicole Dong and Ashlyn Anstee, Bee said, “It is hard to keep talking about this shit. That’s why we asked some talented animators to draw it.”

Art director Paula Spence states in the “#MeToon” clip, “I think #MeToo is waiting to happen in every industry if you look around,” followed by the text “This is a #MeToo story as told by a group of Fed-The-Fuck-up Female Animators.”

The artists particularly reflect on the experiences shared by many women in dealing with Chris Savino, creator of Nickelodeon’s The Loud House, who was fired by the studio and was suspended by The Animation Guild last year following a plea agreement with the Trial Board.
