Platinum Films is on a roll with its dimension-hopping adventure series Matt Hatter Chronicles, striking a multi-territory, three season deal with Cartoon Network just as Simba Dickie Group launches the show’s toy and back to school range in the Middle East. Seasons 1 & 2 of the show premiered on Cartoon Network Arabic’s free to air service in ME in July, supported by an on-air promo campaign and dedicated microsite. The brand-new third season will launch in Spring 2015.
The new deal will increase the show’s foothold in the Middle East, Africa and Southern Europe, and follows a three-season acquisition by Cartoon Network India earlier this year. Master toy partner Simba Dickie Group’s Matt Hatter toy range for boys 5-10 highlights interlocking SKUs, 3D Multivision technology and “Hero Hatter Tech.” Role-play, vehicles and action figures are the core of the first phase release — interactivity, play-power and collectability will continue to define the range.
