Childrens and family entertainment specialist DECODE Ent. has closed sales for several of its animated properties with six broadcasters across four continents. In addition to deals for Frannys Feet in Europe and Asia, the company has signed agreements with key broadcasters worldwide for Ollivers Adventures, The Save-Ums!, The Blobheads and Angela Anaconda.
Cartoon Network Taiwan has picked up 39 episodes of Frannys Feet and TVP Poland has acquired the first 13 episodes of the pre-school series. In a separate deal, TV12 Singapore has committed to 39 Franny adventures and also 39 episodes of the 3D preschool series, The Save-Ums!. Franny and The Save-Ums! are also proving popular in the Middle East, where MBC2 has picked up 39 episodes and 26 episodes respectively. MBC2 has also acquired 65 installments of the hit 2D animated series, Angela Anaconda.
DECODE signed a deal with Daekyo Network in Korea for The Blobheads, a DECODE co-production with U.K. independent Wark Clements that combines human characters and CG aliens.
Teletoon France has picked up all three seasons of Angela Anaconda, along with 39 episodes of What about Mimi?, and second seasons of King, Ollivers Adventures and Frannys Feet. U.S. HD broadcaster Animania, part of satellite package ZOOM, has also bought 39 episodes of Ollivers Adventures.
Each Frannys Feet episode sees Franny off on different adventure by putting her in the shoes of someone with a unique profession. The series recently won a Pulcinella Award for Best TV Series for Infants at the 2004 Cartoons on the Bay. It has been commissioned by Five in the U.K. and The Family Channel in Canada, and sales have recently concluded with POGO in Asia, TENA (Turner Entertainment Network Asia) in India and ATV in Hong Kong. Koreas C4U Ent. has also picked up television and home video rights. Frannys journeys are also aired on Discovery UK, France 5, Teletoon in France and Canadas TeleQuebec.
The Save-Ums! centers on a new breed of super action heroes that help prepare pre-schoolers for their roles in the 21st century. The show has been picked up by Discoverys The Learning Channel and Discovery Kids in the U.S. and by the CBC and Radio-Canada in Canada. It can be seen on the U.K.s FIVE, France 5, Canal J in France and Super RTL in Germany.
The 2D animated series King follows the adventures of a boy whose world is turned upside down as he discovers a portal under his bed which takes him to a kingdom where he is king. The co-production between DECODE and Funbag Prods. airs in France on France 5 and Teletoon, TVB Pay TV in Hong Kong and Radio-Canada.
Ollivers Adventures follows the exploits of a hyper-kinetic kid with a big imagination who wants to save the world. Plagued by his older sisters, Olliver escapes to the privacy of his bedroom where he can take off and dream up his own wild escapades. Currently airing on TELETOON in Canada, the show is produced by Canadas Collideascope Digital.
What about Mimi? is a family-oriented series that focuses on the adventures of resourceful, 11-year-old problem-solver Mimi Morton. The series, produced by Vancouver’s Studio B Prods. with DECODE as co-exec producer and worldwide distributor, also received the Pulcinella Award at Cartoons on the Bay.
Multi-award winning Angela Anaconda features 2D cut-and-paste-style animation and can be seen on channels worldwide. Video and DVD deals have also been signed with Channel Four in the U.K., Universal Pictures France, ABC Video in Australia, Tycoon Ent. for Mexico and Canadas Video Services Corp.
