Cartoon Network is set to launch a new Friday night primetime and Saturday morning block dubbed Fried Dynamite at the end of the month. Devoted to kids’ lifestyles and hit Cartoon Network series and movie events, the block will be hosted by a 10-year-old super fan named Blake, who the network is presenting as a normal kid who talked himself into a sweet gig through initiative and creativity.
Not only does Blake get his own office space at Cartoon Network headquarters, but he and his friends have behind-the-scenes access to show creators, voice actors and pretty much anyone else who makes things happen. He will also be sent on the road to cover the latest trends and events that interest kids.
Fried Dynamite will present Cartoon Network’s top original series, world premiere episodes and blockbuster movies. Friday nights with showcase original series such as Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends and The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, as well as the new series Out of Jimmy’s Head and Chowder. Blake and his friends will showcase what they’ve discovered at Cartoon Network and solicit input from viewers just like them.
Saturday mornings belong to the ‘Dynamite Action Squad’ and are all about action-adventure with such shows as Ben 10, Teen Titans, Pok’mon: Diamond Pearl and Fantastic Four. Blake and his crew will swing from ropes, jump over creeks and communicate via walkie-talkies as they encourage other kids to send in their very own action-packed mini-movies. Fried Dynamite will air Fridays from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. (ET/PT) and Saturday mornings from 9 a.m to 12 p.m. (ET/PT), beginning Friday, Aug. 31.
