Cartoon Network viewers will get the scoop on DreamWorks Animation’s Kung Fu Panda, Warner Bros.’ Speed Racer and other upcoming movies from a pair of oddball puppets named Jib and Crash. Featuring set visits, celebrity interviews and exclusive sneak peeks, the interstitial program serves as a custom promotional opportunity for movie studio marketing partners.
The first film to get the Jib & Crash crash treatment is Speed Racer, which is scheduled to open nationwide on May 9. The puppet team with introduce a 90-second excusive sneak peek of the highly anticipated summer release on Sunday, May 4. Jib and Crash will then get their first interview opportunity as they sit down with actor Jack Black and discuss Kung Fu Panda in late May. Black voices the lead role of Po, a lazy panda bear who becomes an unlikely hero in the CG-animated comedy slated to hit theaters on June 6. The interview will be featured on Cartoon Network throughout the week of May 26.
As on-air personalities, Jib and Crash could not be any different from one another. Jib thinks he is a veteran in the biz and tries to play it cool around celebrities, while Crash is a super movie geek with no inhibitions who usually creates havoc wherever he goes. They are joined by friend Paige, who works in Hollywood as a costumer and often sets them up with outfits and decoys to help them sneak into studios and hotels to meet stars.
