Exclusive: Brad Bird, Michael Giacchino and Ralph Eggleston to Keynote VIEW Confab

Italy’s popular VIEW Conference has nabbed a Pixar tripleheader to keynote its 2019 Edition. Turin’s animation and vfx conference, which takes place Oct. 21-25, has just announced that director Brad Bird (The Incredibles movies, Ratatouille, Iron Giant ), composer Michaael Giacchino (Incredibles movies, Up, Ratatouille), and Ralph Eggleston (production designer on Incredibles 2, Inside Out) will give keynote addresses at the Oct. 21-25 symposium.
“Year after year, VIEW Conference has established its reputation as the event where the best and the brightest from the world’s digital industries convene to exchange experiences, discuss their work, and to enrich, teach and inspire us,” says conference director Dr. Maria Elena Gutierrez. “Increasingly, VIEW is not just an event – it’s an experience, a community. It’s where you should be, too.”
The conference brings together the world’s top directors, studio heads, animators, game developers, visual effects artists and inventors who create live-action films, animated films, games, and virtual reality for a week of talks, masterclasses and networking within the relaxed beauty and culture of the northern Italian city.
Bird, Giacchino and Eggleston join the already announced Dean DeBlois, writer, director and exec producer of How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, and Changhan (CH) Kim, CEO of PUBG Corporation, known for its online multiplayer game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, at the event.
Other industry heavyweights giving keynotes this year are Maureen Fan, CEO and co-founder of Emmy- and Annie-award-winning Baobab Studios; renowned physicist Daniel Zajfman, president of the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel; and Janelle Croshaw Ralla, a VFX supervisor on the international blockbuster Captain Marvel.
The international VIEW Conference is Italy’s premiere event for computer graphics, interactive and immersive storytelling, animation, visual Effects, games, and AR, VR and mixed reality. The event brings top professionals from those fields to the beautiful baroque city of Torino, Italy for a week of talks, presentations, workshops, B2Bs and recruitment. This year’s conference takes place from October 21 to 25 at the new OGR venue. Registration is now open. For more information, visit www.viewconference.it
