West Gets Promoted, Chaotic at 4Kids

4Kids Ent. has promoted senior VP Carlin C. West to exec VP of acquisitions and development. In her new role, West will utilize her extensive marketing, licensing, public relations and brand-building expertise to direct the upcoming launch of Chaotic, the company’s multi-platform trading card game set to debut online and at comic and hobby stores this summer. The game is based on 4Kids’ animated series of the same name.

West has been with 4Kids for 12 years. As exec VP, she will continue to spearhead the company’s new property acquisitions, while also taking responsibility for managing various aspects of the Chaotic franchise. These duties include overseeing marketing, public relations, trade and consumer advertising, coordinating the brand’s licensed merchandise program and working with 4Kids Prods. on the animated TV series. She will also be the liaison to Bryan Gannon, CEO and president of TC Digital Games and TC Websites, affiliates of 4Kids Ent. TC Digital Games will produce the Chaotic trading card game, and TC Websites will create a hub where the game can be played online.

The Chaotic animated series debuted on FOX affiliates in the U.S. in September of 2006 and recently launched on TELETOON in Canada. The show follows the adventures of two teenage boys, Tom and Kazdan, who discover that their favorite trading card game serves as a portal to the secret world of Chaotic. They realize that the one-of-a-kind alphanumeric codes on their trading cards are actually scans of living creatures and can be used to transform into powerful beasts when challenged to a battle. The series will offer viewers battle strategies that will help them master the Chaotic trading card game for both online and offline play. The game will launch at hobby and comic stores in June and at mass retailers nationwide in the fall.
