VIZ Media has appointed Brad Woods to the role of Chief Marketing Officer. The seasoned entertainment exec will be responsible for developing a range of marketing and product strategies to expand the VIZ Media brand and omni-channel marketing for titles across all company imprints.
Woods joins VIZ from DreamWorks Animation, where he was SVP for the domestic consumer products and retail business development divisions, where he restructured and substantially expanded the studio’s consumer products business, led the U.S. licensing and retail teams, and lead marketing programs for key properties including Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon.
Over a 20-year career, Woods has also held senior positions at entertainment and multi-media companies including Mattel and Warner Bros. Ent. His experience spans various operations from product marketing to brand development, corporate marketing and communications, channel relations, digital and social media marketing. Woods holds an MBA from USC and a BS from the University of Arizona.
