Mouse House Attacks with Fantastic Four-Pack

Disney fans will go on a spending spree this week as four new titles in the awesome Walt Disney Treasures series hit DVD stores today. Wave 3 of the limited series, which include rare footage, uncut and uncensored titles, along with introductions by Leonard Maltin include Walt Disney on the Frontlines, The Chronological Donald, Mickey Mouse in Living Color, Vol. II and Walt Disney’s Tomorrowland.

Walt Disney on the Frontlines is a collection of the studio’s rare and historic WWII-themed productions, including many animated shorts, recently declassified training films and the feature-length Victory Through Air Power. Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy star in shorts such as Der Feuhrer’s Face, Donald Gets Drafted and All Together. Other highlights include the Minnie Mouse and Pluto toon, Out of the Frying Pan and Into the Firing Line, the Seven Dwarfs-starrer The Winged Scourge and the anti-Nazi Education for Death. You can also find a report on Disney’s shelved World War II feature toon, The Gremlins, as well as a look at Disney legend Joe Grant’s wartime sketchbook in this collection.

The Chronological Donald, Vol. One celebrates the career of the most prolific of Walt Disney’s "Fabulous Five" classic characters, who is celebrating his 70th birthday this year. This delightful package begins with his first appearance in The Wise Little Hen (1934) and goes up to the 1941 short, Chef Donald. Bonus features include a documentary on Clarence "Ducky" Nash, the first voice of the animated fowl, galleries of rare publicity and memorablia items, magazine covers and storyboards.

Donald’s rodent pal gets his moment in the sun with Mickey Mouse in Living Color, Vol. Two, a collection of his short subjects from 1939 to 1995. Tugboat Mickey, Mickey and the Seal, The Pointer, Mickey and the Beanstalk, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice from Fantasia, and Mickey’s Christmas Carol are some of the shorts included on this DVD. Interviews with the voices of Mickey and Minnie, as well as rare pencil animation and interviews with animators Andreas Deja and Mark Henn are all part of this special presentation.

Produced and directed by Disney legend Ward Kimball, the first installment of Tomorrowland from the Disneyland TV series, kicks off the new collection of Walt Disney’s Tomorrowland DVD. Dedicated to outer space and the challenges of space travel, the collection includes behind-the-scenes documentaries, and film projects such as Our Friend the Atom, Eyes in Outer Space, Epcot, Man in Space, Mars and Beyond and Man and the Moon, as well as interviews with Marty Sklar, VP and principle creative exec at Walt Disney Imagineering, and noted science fiction author and futurist, Ray Bradbury.

Each of these new (two-disc) volumes comes in a collectible tin, with an exclusive lithograph and individually numbered authenticity certificate and priced at $32.99.
