If you enjoyed the premiere of UPNs new CG-animated series, Game Over, last night, you can now get into the action with a free downloadable PC game based on the half-hour comedy. Sponsored by game rental company GameFly, Game Over in Machinimation was created by Fountainhead Ent. and is available on www.UPN.com.
Produced by Carsey-Werner-Mandabach, the Game Over series follows the misadventures of The Smashenburns, a family of video game characters. Patrick Warburton (The Tick, Seinfeld, The Emporers New Groove) voices patriarch Rip Smashenburn, a Grand Prix racecar driver, while Lucy Liu (Kill Bill Vol. 1, Charlies Angels) plays his tomb-raiding wife, Raquel.
Raquel is the playable character in the game, which sets her on an alien planet in search of the ancient artifact known as the Alien Monkey. Players can choose to play in either first- or third-person shooter mode to complete six levels of single- and multi-player action. Built on the Quake III engine, the game also allows integrated Machinimation, which allows gamers to cast Raquel in their own short animated films. Fountainhead has made the Machinimation tools available as a free download on www.UPN.com.
Game Over airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on UPN. A special encore telecast of the premiere episode airs Friday, March 12, at 9 p.m.
