Buena Vista Games Inc., the interactive entertainment arm of The Walt Disney Co., will publish video games based on the upcoming Mouse House features The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe and Chicken Little. The announcement was made today at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angles.
The Walt Disney Pictures/Walden Media live-action adaptation of the best-selling C.S. Lewis novel The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe is now in production in New Zealand with Andrew Adamson (Shrek, Shrek 2) in the directors chair. It is scheduled for release Christmas 2005. A full slate of games based on the CG-laden tent pole will roll out for PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, PC and handheld consoles in fall 2005.
“The opportunity to work closely with the video game production team at the same time we’re creating the film is very exciting." says Adamson "I’m looking forward to watching both projects come to life.”
Based on Walt Disney Pictures’ first fully 3D animated feature, the Chicken Little video games will be published for PlayStation2, Xbox, GameCube, handheld and PC platforms in conjunction with the summer 2005 release of the film.
Produced by Randy Fullmer and directed by Mark Dindal (The Emperor’s New Groove), Disney’s Chicken Little will feature voice performances by Scrubs star Zack Braff as Chicken Little, Garry Marshall as Chicken Little’s Father, Joan Cusack as Ugly Duckling, Steve Zahn as Runt of the Litter, Amy Sedaris as Foxy Loxy and Don Knotts as Mayor Turkey Lurkey and Narrator.
E3 attendees can find Buena Vista Games at Booth #900 in the South Hall of the Las Angeles Convention Center.
