Aardman Animations and StudioCanal have announced the start of production on four-time-Oscar-winner Nick Park’s latest stop frame feature, Early Man, with a delightful “short and snappy” promo clip that introduces the film’s prehistoric hero.
Early Man is directed by Park from a script by Mark Burton (Shaun the Sheep: The Movie, Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit) and John O’Farrell. Eddie Redmayne is voicing the lead character, Dug, a plucky caveman who with his sidekick Hognob unites his tribe in a battle for survival against the Bronze Age. This project marks the first time Park has directed a feature since Were-Rabbit in 2005.
Aardman and StudioCanal previously teamed for the release of the critical lauded Shaun the Sheep The Movie. Early Man will be released in UK cinemas on January 26, 2018, with a US release set for March 30, 2018.
