Would you like to take a sneak peek at the new CG-animated feature Happily N’Ever After? If you live in the Los Angeles area, Animation Magazine, ASIFA’Hollywood and Lionsgate are inviting you to a free screening of the feature on Thursday, Jan. 4th at 7:30 p.m. at the Laemmle Music Hall (Beverly Hills). The event also includes a special Q&A with producer John H. Williams (Shrek, Valiant).
A satirical retelling of the Cinderalla story, Happily N’Ever After looks at what happens when the age-old balance between good and evil is thrown out of whack. Frieda, Cinderella’s power-mad stepmother (voiced by Sigourney Weaver), has formed an unholy alliance of evil to take on the good guys. With her own fairy tale spinning wildly out of control, Cinderella (Sarah Michelle Gellar) is forced to shed her damsel-in-distress trappings in order to seize control of her own destiny and lead the resistance without her Prince Charming (Freddie Prinze Jr.). Andy Dick, Wallace Shawn, Patrick Warburton and George Carlin also provide voices.
The feature was directed by Paul J. Bolger and written by Rob Moreland. The film was produced by Williams, BAF Berlin Animation Film and BFC Berliner Film Companie, co-executive produced by Ralph Kamp and Louise Goodsill of Odyssey Entertainment, and executive produced by Rainer Soehnlein, CEO of BFC Berliner Film Companie. Lionsgate will release Happily N’Ever After on Jan. 5 nationwide. For more info, visit www.happilyneverafterthefilm.com.
