It’s time to pack up your bags and head to San Diego as the annual Comic-Con International prepares to open its doors for preview night on Wednesday, followed by four full days of entertainment madness.
One question that won’t be answered until after the show is whether Comic-Con will pull up and move from its long-time San Diego home to either Los Angeles or Anaheim. According to a report in the San Diego Union-Tribune, organizers will decide the matter after the convention wraps up.
In the meantime, there is plenty of goings-on at the convention, especially for animation fans.
The programming this year is deeper than ever, spotlighting everything from big studio features such as DreamWorks’ upcoming Megamind to panels on the State of the Animation Industry and voice acting, the premiere of the animated feature Batman: Under the Red Hood, and panels on animated TV shows from Family Guy to Scooby-Doo and clips like the following first look at The Goon movie, based on the comic by Eric Powell and produced by David Fincher:
The full listing of animation-themed panels can be found online at http://comic-con.org/cci/cci_search_results.php?strShow=27&chkCat=229.
