The Annecy International Animation Film Festival (June 15-20; annecy.org) has revealed part of its official selection, culled from a record-setting 2,600 films from 95 countries. The festival lineup is chosen by Laurent Million, Yves Nougarede and Sebastien Sperer, from the Films & Programme Planning department at CITIA, and festival artistic director Marcel Jean.
The Official Selection will comprise 53 short films in competition (30% made by women), including 10 films competing in the “Off-Limits” category, and 33 out of competition. Works produced in France, Germany and Canada make up the highest percentage in this category. There are also 49 graduation films (50% created by women) and 64 TV and commissioned films. Altogether, 40 nations will be represented in this year’s selections.
Selections for feature film and out of competition categories will be announced at the end of April. You can view the complete list of 2015 selections online here.
