An pink-haired heroine draws her sword amidst a dreamy cloudscape in the new poster artwork for Scarlet, the next animated fantasy feature from Oscar-nominated Japanese director Mamoru Hosoda (Mirai, Belle, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Summer Wars) and Studio Chizu, which he co-founded with producer Yuichiro Saito.
The film will be released in U.S. cinemas by Sony Pictures on December 12.
In the works for almost five years, Scarlet (alternatively titled Endless Scarlet in Japan) tells the story of a brave princess who transcends time and space.
Producers are Yuichiro Saito and Nozomu Takahashi (Studio Chizu) and Toshimi Tanio (Nippon TV).
