Marvel Sneak Peeks Animated Disney+ Series ‘Eyes of Wakanda’

Marvel fans will get to dive into the lore and legends of Black Panther’s fictional kingdom through a vibrant, animated lens in Eyes of Wakanda, coming to Disney+ on August 27. The four-part semi-anthological series, executive produced by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Ryan Coogler (Black Panther, Fruitvale Station, Sinners), explores Wakandan history through tales of the brave warriors who traveled the world to collect vibranium artifacts.

A new sneak peek teaser was debuted today by Marvel Studios ahead of the stylized CG show’s debut this summer.

According to showrunner/director Todd Harris, a veteran storyboard artist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the story begins at the end of the Western Bronze Age and evolves into a “giant spy-espionage story that reverberates through time” as it blends “the interconnectivity of Marvel with the interconnectivity of history along with the interconnectivity of the human story.” In addition to great heroes and figures of Wakanda, the show will also weave in characters like Iron Fist.

The star-studded voice cast includes Cress Williams, Anika Noni Rose, Steve Toussaint, Winnie Harlow, Patricia Belcher, Larry Herron, Adam Gold, Lynn Whitfield, Jacques Colimon, Jona Xiao, Isaac Robinson-Smith, Gary Anthony Williams and Zeke Alton.
