Marking the sophomore season global streaming launch of the hit supernatural anime series Dan Da Dan, fans were today treated to the full opening and ending animations that will bookend the new episodes, coming to ADN, Crunchyroll, Hulu, Muse, Netflix, and more starting today.
Following the first season’s conclusion in December 2024, S2 is again produced by Science SARU (DEVILMAN crybaby, INU-OH, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off), co-directed by Fuga Yamashiro (director of the first season) and Science SARU veteran Abel Gongora, who directed the opening theme of the first season. Composer kensuke ushio (Chainsaw Man, DEVILMAN crybaby) also returns.
It was previously announced that the opening theme song, titled “On The Way,” will be performed by the hit J-Pop artist AiNA THE END, and the ending theme song, “Doukashiteru,” will be performed by popular J-Rock artist WurtS.
This weekend, a special Dan Da Dan panel will be presented on July 5 at Anime Expo, featuring series director Fuga Yamashiro and Science SARU Producer Kohei Sakita, alongside English voice cast AJ Beckles (Okarun), Abby Trott (Momo) and Aleks Le (Jiji).
Dan Da Dan is a television adaptation of author Yukinobu Tatsu’s manga of the same name, which is currently serialized in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump Plus. The original manga series recently crossed 10 million in sales, more than doubling its circulation following the global success of animated series.
In celebration of Dan Da Dan’s return, a global theatrical rollout, released as Dan Da Dan: Evil Eye debuted outside of Japan and began in Asia on May 30, with a global rollout following throughout early June. In North America, Dan Da Dan: Evil Eye has grossed over $6 million at the box office. The theatrical event, which kicked off the “Evil Eye” arc that began in the last episode of the first season, also screened the first three episodes of the new second season, in addition to an exclusive interview with series co-directors Yamashiro and Gongora.
