WB Animation Promotes Adam Galen to VP Development

Warner Bros. Pictures Animation has promoted Adam Galen to Vice President of Development, it was announced today by Bill Damaschke, President of WBPA. In his elevated role, Galen joins Susan Akinbola. Together they will help lead the studio’s feature development slate, guiding projects from inception through greenlight, while working closely with the company’s creative talent.

“Adam has an exceptional creative eye and a deep understanding of what it takes to shepherd a story from idea to screen,” said Damaschke. “His passion for animation, coupled with his ability to inspire and support our filmmakers, makes him an invaluable part of our executive team. With six films now in active production and exciting ambition for the future — I am thrilled to have Adam and Susan as the key leaders in creative development.”

Galen, a seasoned development executive and creative consultant, brings a wealth of experience from both the creative and business sides of the entertainment industry, with a background spanning animation and live action.

Prior to Warner Bros., Galen spent several years at Skydance Animation, where he played a key role in building the studio’s development slate and served as a core member of the Skydance Story Trust. He worked closely with filmmakers on both feature films and series and was integral in sourcing and acquiring new IP. He also contributed creatively as a writer on The Search for WondLa animated series for Apple TV+.

Galen began his career at Preferred Content, a boutique firm specializing in independent film packaging and sales, where he rose from assistant to Creative Executive and helped build the company’s sales and production slate.

WBPA’s feature film projects in development include new Bugs Bunny, Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry movies, Meerkat Manor, Metal Men, Funko, Emily the Strange, Dr. Suess’s Thing One and Thing Two and George R.R. Martin’s The Ice Dragon.
