Today, family audiences can delve into a magical animated quest as Into the Wonderwoods kicks off its Digital platform distribution through Shout! Studios and Shout! Kids. To celebrate the launch, new clips from the new film from Vincent Paronnaud (Persepolis), a.k.a. Winshluss, and Alexis Ducord (Zombillenium) have arrived. Following its tour of premiere film festivals around the world, North American audiences now get to meet young Angelo and follow his fantastical journey.
Synopsis: 10-year-old Angelo dreams of becoming an explorer and a zoologist. When he hits the road with his family to visit his beloved granny, his distracted parents leave him behind at a rest stop. Left to his own devices, Angelo decides to cut through the forest in search of his family. He enters a dark and mysterious world inhabited by strange creatures, some friendlier than others…
The film is based on a comic book by Winshluss, and has already delighted audiences as an official selection at the 2024 Festival de Cannes, the 2024 Annecy International Animation Film Festival and most recently at the 2025 Seattle International Film Festival.
Into the Wonderwoods is produced by Je Suis Bien Content, Gao Shan Pictures and Zeilt Productions. Producers are Marc Jousset, Arnauld Boulard, Laurent Witz, Perrine Capron, Jean Labadie, Florent Steiner, Guillaume Natas, Mathieu Rolin and Eric Debègue.
