DeAPlaneta Entertainment has teamed up with Superprod Group for a new collaboration — this time, to reintroduce the new face of a familiar hero: Underdog! The fearless dog who, alongside other super-powered canines, protects the inhabitants of Capitol City from villains trying to take over the metropolis.
The new, CG-animated reboot of the classic cartoon series Underdog was developed by Superprod Animation and is produced in its Paris and Angoulême studios in France as well as Red Monk’s studios in Milan, Italy. Currently in production with Gulli/M6, Red Monk Studio, and RAI, Underdog is an animated comedy series aimed at children ages 5 to 8. The first season will consist of 52 11-minute episodes.
DeAPlaneta Entertainment holds the media rights for Spain, Portugal and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), as well as the merchandising and brand licensing rights worldwide, excluding the United States and French and Italian-speaking territories. Superights, Superprod Group distribution arm, is selling other territories throughout the world. The series is scheduled for global launch fall 2025.
Underdog is a reboot of the classic American cartoon series originally created in the 1960s and distributed all over the world. The character’s last screen appearance was in the Underdog live-action film (distributed by Walt Disney Pictures).
