Crunchyroll today launched the Gachiakuta World Takeover, an unprecedented global anime movement that will deliver the excitement of this incredible title and unite fans around the world. In partnership with Kodansha, Avex and Bones, this campaign kicks off the debut of the main trailer, unveiling new footage from the action series set to stream exclusively on Crunchyroll on July 6.
Fans can also view the new key visual, the global premiere schedule, a new concept video and visual that tells the world, “Here Comes Gachiakuta!” as well as explore special activations that showcase the raw, graffiti-inspired world.
Crunchyroll also revealed two new characters and their voice actors joining the series: Regto (voiced by Toshiyuki Morikawa), the man who raised Rudo after he lost his parents and gave him a pair of gloves; and Jabber (voiced by Yuuki Shin), one of the “Raiders,” a group of ground bandits, who fights using rings containing a powerful neurotoxin.
Plus, the bookend songs were confirmed to be performed by Paledusk (opening theme “HUGs”) and DUSTCELL (ending theme “TOMOSHIBI”).
Synopsis: Crawl back from the abyss of Hell to change this lousy world. Gachiakuta follows Rudo, a young outcast falsely accused of murder and exiled into the wasteland known as The Pit. Facing monstrous Trash Beasts and a world stacked against him, Rudo must rise from the depths and challenge the power structures that discarded him.
Directed by rising talent Fumihiko Suganuma, making his directorial debut, with series composition by Hiroshi Seko (Attack on Titan, Chainsaw Man, JUJUTSU KAISEN), and music by Taku Iwasaki (Bungo Stray Dogs), Gachiakuta blends shonen action with a distinct graffiti-infused art style.
“There’s a raw, emotional current in Gachiakuta that will resonate with fans the moment they see it,” said Gita Rebbapragada, Chief Operating Officer at Crunchyroll. “These promotional efforts are designed to match the excitement and intensity of this remarkable story and hook them into an unforgettable narrative journey.”
