Cartoon Forum Selects 75 TV Projects for Sept. 2025 Pitch Fest

The line-up of projects to be pitched at Cartoon Forum 2025 has been revealed, totaling up to 75 animated television series and specials, out of 108 submissions. The full roster of selections is available now at cartoon-media.eu/forum.

France leads the selection with 30 projects, followed by 11 from the CEE countries (Poland [three], Czechia and Serbia [two each], Armenia, Bosnia, Bulgaria and Latvia [one each]), Ireland (seven), Belgium and Spain (six), Germany and Italy (three), Greece and Netherlands (two). Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Portugal and Sweden will each present one project.

The majority of selections are aimed at young audiences: 34 children’s projects and 21 aimed at preschoolers, as well as five for the whole family. This year’s edition will also present 15 projects aimed at young adults & adults (including two specifically created for teenagers).

The members of the external Selection Committee shared a few key considerations that guided this year’s selection process. Given the high number of submissions, the Committee made the decision to prioritize the emergence of new IPs. This decision reflects a strong commitment to supporting original creations, especially given the current economic challenges facing the industry. A notable increase in preschool project submissions also influenced the final selection, affecting the overall balance across different target audiences.

  • 27 countries in total: 20 MEDIA countries as main producer + Luxembourg and six non-MEDIA countries as co-producers (Brazil, Canada, Chile, Japan, U.K. & Switzerland).
