Pluto TV Celebrates “Ani-May” with Weeklong ‘Hunter X Hunter’ Marathon

Recently, free ad-supported streamer Pluto TV launched its biggest anime content refresh ever timed to the month of “Ani-May,” adding over 800 hours of programming and more than 120 feature films.

This week (through Sunday, May 18), Hunter x Hunter fans can join Gon and Killua for an epic marathon packed with action, heart and unforgettable battles, all day long on the platform’s Anime All Day channel.

Based on the manga by Yoshihiro Togashi, serialized in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump, Hunter X Hunter takes place in a world where “Hunters” travel uncharted territories seeking rare items and terrible monsters. To join these adventurers, one must pass the high-risk Hunter Examination. It’s on this perilous journey we find 12-year-old Gon Freecss, who is on a personal ques to find his father, a Hunter. Together with his newfound friends, each with their own motives to become Hunters, Gon ventures out into this dangerous, unknown world.

The anime series launched in Japan in 2011 and ran for 148 episodes. The show was produced by VAP, Nippon TV and Shueisha, with animation by Madhouse.
