Indie Animation Powerhouse Titmouse Partners with 1st Gorgazma Horror Shorts at Monsterpalooza

Horror fans can sink their fangs into some scary-cool animation at this year’s Monsterpalooza (monsterpalooza.com) in Pasadena, California.

Emmy-winning animation studio Titmouse (The Venture Bros., Big Mouth, The Legend of Vox Machina) has teamed up with rising horror collective Gorgazma to unveil the First Annual GHS Video Show (Gorgazma Horror Shorts) — a brutal, bloody and utterly unforgettable night of monster short-form cinema premiering Friday, May 30, 7–9 p.m. in the Exhibit Hall C Theater of the Pasadena Convention Center.

The event kick-starts Monsterpalooza weekend with a collision of practical effects mayhem, brand-new Titmouse animation and original horror shorts that push the genre’s boundaries.

“We are huge fans of Spike & Mike’s Sick and Twisted Fest, Heavy Metal magazine, and Love, Death + Robots, all platforms that showcase irreverent, art-driven, bite-sized storytelling,” says Mark Villalobos, Co-Founder of Gorgazma. “With GHS, we’re channeling that same energy into horror, with our flavor of dark humor and gore, and a spotlight on rising talent.”

The event will feature:

  • Curated block of horror shorts, from creature-driven carnage to surreal fever dreams, spliced together with the grainy pulse of a lost-era VHS tape
  • World-premiere animated horror vignettes produced by Titmouse exclusively for the show
  • Giveaways and limited-edition merch, including Monsterpalooza-only collectibles
  • Live hosting by Chuck “Your Movie Guy” (Instagram @yourmovie_guy)

Helmed by industry veterans Mark Villalobos, Heather Mages, Austin Reading and Nathan Cabrera, Gorgazma unites horror filmmaking, practical-makeup effects and lifestyle branding under one blood-spattered banner. The studio spins original IP into cinematic shorts, collectible merchandise and immersive fan experiences — backed by a striking visual identity and handcrafted FX that pull its monsters off the screen and into the hands of a rapidly growing fanbase.

“Think Saturday morning cartoons got possessed by demons,” adds Austin Reading. “This is horror for the hardcore, loud, weird and fully Gorgazmic.”

Titmouse this year celebrates its milestone 25th anniversary. Read more about the award-winning independent animation studio’s rise in Animation Magazine‘s feature story here!
