Hulu Drops New ‘King of the Hill’ Opener & Premiere Date, Toby Huss to Voice Dale

Following up on the reveal of the resurrected series’ new key art earlier this month, Hulu has unveiled the opening credit sequence for the 14th season of King of the Hill, which now has the official premiere date of August 4 on the streamer. Fans can also access the new age-progressed episodes through Hulu on Disney Plus. The footage dropped timed to the KotH reunion panel at ATX TV Festival in Austin on Friday.

Synopsis: After years working a propane job in Saudi Arabia to earn their retirement nest egg, Hank and Peggy Hill return to a changed Arlen, Texas to reconnect with old friends Dale, Boomhauer and Bill. Meanwhile, Bobby is living his dream as a chef in Dallas and enjoying his 20s with his former classmates Connie, Joseph and Chane.

Produced by 20th Television Animation, King of the Hill Season 14 is set some 30 years after the original Emmy-winning Fox series, and is created and executive produced by original co-creators Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, joined by executive producer and showrunner Saladin Patterson (Psych, The Wonder Years, Frasier). Arts’ Michael Rotenberg and Howard Klein, and Bandera Entertainment’s Dustin Davis also serve as executive producers

Returning voice stars include Mike Judge (Hank Hill and Jeff Boomhauer), Kathy Najimy (Peggy Hill), Stephen Root (Bill Dauterive), Pamela Adlon (Bobby Hill) and Lauren Tom (Minh and Connie Souphanousinphone). Toby Huss (Dickinson, Halt and Catch Fire), who voiced Kahn Souphanousinphone and Cotton Hill in 164 King of the Hill episodes from 1997-2010, has been announced as the new voice of flailing, conspiracy-obsessed exterminator Dale Gribble, taking over from the late Johnny Hardwick.

Hardwick, the well-known voice of Dale and a writer/producer on the original series, died in August 2023, shortly after he was announced as one of the reprising cast members for the new show. He was able to record six episodes of the new season before his sudden passing, and will be credited as a series regular on these eps.
