First-Ever ‘CoComelon’ Film Greenlit by Moonbug & Flywheel

Moonbug Entertainment, a part of Candle Media, and Flywheel Media (The Angry Birds Movie 3) have greenlit the first-ever animated CoComelon feature film, marking a major milestone for the global kids’ brand. Fans will follow JJ and his friends on a big screen adventure when the film premieres in theaters in 2027.

The CG animated film will be produced by Moonbug Entertainment, Flywheel Media, Prime Focus Studios (The Garfield Movie) and DreamWorks Animation (The Wild Robot), with animation by the DNEG Group (That Christmas), and distributed by Universal Pictures.

CoComelon is a children’s series designed to teach life skills through music —  from trying new veggies to winding down for bed. Created with input from child development experts, the hit series reaches audiences in over 80 countries, available in more than 20 languages, with more than 4 billion average monthly views on YouTube. CoComelon includes spin-offs like Netflix’s CoComelon Lane, Cody Time, Nina’s Familia and JJ’s Animal Time. Since joining Moonbug Entertainment in 2020, the franchise has expanded into consumer products, streaming music, games and live entertainment.
