Max today announced the premiere of the animated preschool series Lu & The Bally Bunch, set for Friday, February 7. Created by Oscar-nominated director Nicky Phelan (Granny O’Grimm’s Sleeping Beauty, Octonauts, Bing), inspired by his memories of helping his mom in her own preschool, the show celebrates the joy, drama and humor of young kids learning to share space.
Synopsis: Lu & the Bally Bunch invites viewers to join Lu, a little ladybug just starting preschool with her new classmates — Barnaby, Biba, Declan, Elodie and Gus, in the whimsical village of Ballybug. Together they explore their brand-new social lives through play, music, big feelings, and even bigger fun.
The series reflects the reality of preschool viewers as they navigate their new social lives and learn one of life’s most important skills: how to be a friend. The series features real-life scenarios that young kids deal with as they go to school for the first time.
Lu & The Bally Bunch is created and directed by Phelan, produced by 9 Story Media Group, and animated by Brown Bag Films.
Max is the first U.S. streamer to premiere the series, which is currently also on Max in EMEA, and Cartoon Network in the U.S.
