Responding to increasing requests from studios, producers and investors seeking strategic guidance, industry veteran John Reynolds has officially launched Flip Side Media — a consultancy dedicated to helping children’s and family content companies secure financing, structure co-productions and develop sustainable business strategies.
With over 30 years of experience in financing, co-production, distribution and commercial strategy, Reynolds has worked with leading global studios and broadcasters through senior roles at JAM Media, Millimages, Cinar Entertainment (a.k.a. Cookie Jar, which was subsequently bought out by WildBrain) and Sunbow Entertainment. Seeing a growing need for expert support, Reynolds began advising companies on a case-by-case basis, and with the continuing rise in demand was spurred on to launch a formal consultancy business to provide tailored solutions to a wider range of clients.
“The response has been incredible,” said Reynolds. “Studios and creators are struggling to secure financing and navigate the evolving market, and I’ve already been working with multiple companies to help them find the right funding and distribution strategies. It was clear there was a real need for hands-on commercial expertise, so launching Flip Side Media was the natural next step.”
Flip Side Media works with studios, producers, and investors to provide expertise in:
- Creative Financing & Co-Production – Securing funding through commissions, pre-sales, grants, tax incentives and private investment, ensuring projects are financially viable from development to production.
- Global Distribution & Commercial Strategy – Connecting projects with key broadcasters, streamers, and distributors to maximize reach and long-term success.
- Business Development & Board Advisory – Helping companies expand, optimize revenue streams, and develop long-term growth strategies.
- IP Development & Brand Building – Supporting creators in developing their content beyond a single project, building sustainable, multi-platform brands with commercial potential across publishing, licensing, gaming and other revenue streams.
The consultancy operates alongside Sow You, the creator-led initiative co-founded by Reynolds, which has always collaborated closely with creators to develop early-stage concepts into successful projects.
“The landscape is tougher than ever, and companies need more than just great content — they need the right financing, partnerships, and commercial strategies to make their projects viable,” added Reynolds. “With Flip Side, I’m excited to provide the strategic support that so many companies are already asking for.”
With established industry relationships across Europe and North America, as well as a strong global network, Flip Side Media is already working with multiple clients and is positioned as a key partner for studios, producers and investors looking to develop, finance, and distribute successful children’s content worldwide.
