New Clip from Marvel’s ‘What If…?’ Debuts for Season Launch Event

The creatives behind the popular Marvel Animation series What If…? gathered in Santa Monica, California on Wednesday evening to celebrate the launch of Season 3, which will wrap up the speculative superhero adventures. Disney also dropped a new clip from the finale season, which kicks off December 22 on Disney+, with a new episode debuting daily for eight days.

Seth Green, directors Bryan Andrews and Stephan Franck, and executive producers Brad Winderbaum and Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt joined fans and industry guests for a screening at the AMC Santa Monica 7, followed by a festive post-screening reception at Ice at Santa Monica.

What If…? Season 3 takes fans through the multiverse as classic Marvel characters make unexpected choices that will mutate their worlds into spectacular alternate versions of the MCU. The Watcher (voice of Jeffrey Wright) will guide viewers as the series traverses new genres, bigger spectacles, and incredible new characters.

The new clip, “It’s An Invasion,” spotlights the episode in which Captain America leads a team of mecha pilots in a battle against Gamma Monsters.

The series features a host of stars who return to voice their MCU roles. S3 will include fan-favorite characters like Captain America/Sam Wilson, The Winter Soldier/Bucky Barnes, Hulk/Bruce Banner, The Red Guardian, Captain Peggy Carter, Agatha Harkness, Shang-Chi, Storm the Goddess of Thunder, and many more.

S3 episodes are directed by Bryan Andrews and Stephan Franck and are written by Matthew Chauncey, Ryan Little, and A.C. Bradley. Executive producers are Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt, and Bryan Andrews, with co-executive producer Matthew Chauncey, and producers Danielle Costa, Carrie Wassenaar, and Alex Scharf.
