Mondo TV France & France Télévisions Saddle Up ‘Wonder Pony’ Animated Series

Mondo TV France has teamed up with France Télévisions to develop Wonder Pony, a new 2D animated series adapted from the comic book of the same name by Marie Spénale, published by Jungle.

Wonder Pony follows the adventures of nine-year-old Louison, who, on her first day in summer camp, unwittingly frees a bunch of monsters that have been locked away for centuries in an ancient book guarded by … a magical little pink pony called Jean-Pierre! This is how Louison, a little girl who could have been quite ordinary, becomes Wonder Pony: a fun and completely offbeat superheroine!

“We’re delighted to be working with France Télévisions on Wonder Pony, a series that revisits the codes of the superhero with plenty of comedy, humor and fantasy,” says Reidun Montaville, CEO of Mondo TV France and producer of the series.

Aimed at kids ages six to eight, the 52 x 13′ series is being developed with a show bible by Thomas Blanc and Olivier Vannelle.

Founded in 2006 by Eve Baron-Charlton and now run by Reidun Montaville, Mondo TV France is the French production subsidiary of the Italian group Mondo TV SpA. Its productions include nature-focused kids’ series Lulu Zipadoo (three seasons, 2010-2014), pioneering interactive investigation show Sherlock Yack, video game-world adventure Marcus Level, time traveling cave-boy comedy Rocky Kwaterner, musical emotional intelligense series Disco Dragon and the CG revamp of preschool classic Grisù.
