Amazon MGM Studios definitely knows how to make die-hard animation fans happy at Comic-Con. Earlier today, the streamer revealed a special sneak peek at Mighty Nein, its upcoming animated follow-up to The Legend of Vox Machina.
Billed as Critical Role’s second campaign, the new show is set in the same universe as Vox Machina, but it’s not a straight sequel. It centers on a group of ragtag adventurers (The Mighty Nein) and their mostly accidental quest to stop a full-fledged conflict between the Dwendalian Empire and the Krynn Dynasty. The new project features the voices of Laura Bailey, Travis Willingham, Matthew Mercer, Marisha Ray, Ashley Johnson, Liam O’Brien, Sam Riegl and Taliesin Jaffe.
Super busy animation studio Titmouse, which also handles the animation for The Legend of Vox Machina, Big Mouth and Star Trek: Lower Decks is in charge of the show’s 2D animation.
No release date has been announced, but we’re guessing the show will be streaming on Prime Video in less than a year’s time!
