Cyberpunk anime series Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045, from Production I.G (Haikyu!!, Attack on Titan) and Sola Digital Arts (Ultraman), makes its North American Blu-ray debut in select e–commerce stores from Anime Limited next month, distributed by Shout! Studios. Available August 23, the deluxe set features all 12 episodes from Season 1 and insightful bonus features across three discs, and comes packaged with a 100-page artbook and other cool collectibles.

Originally based on the 1980s manga Ghost in the Shell by Masamune Shirow, this latest revisit brings viewers into a future with super-advanced technology created in full CG animation for the first time ever in the long-running franchise.
Synopsis: In the year 2045, after an economic disaster known as the Simultaneous Global Default which destroyed the value of all forms of paper and electronic currency, the “Big 4” nations of the world are engaged in a state of never-ending “Sustainable War” to keep the economy going. In this world, Mokoto, Batou and other members of Public Security Section 9 have contracted themselves out as mercenaries under the group “GHOST”, using their cybernetic enhancements and battle experience to earn a living while defusing hot-spots across the globe. However, the emergence of “Post Humans” and a conspiracy uncovered by former Chief Aramaki force Section 9 to reunite.
The voice cast features Atsuko Tanaka (Japanese version) / Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (English version) as Motoko, Akio Otsuka / Richard Epcar as Batou, Hiroshi Naka / William Knight as Daisuke Aramaki and Koichi Yamadera / Crispin Freeman as Togusa.
Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 originally premiered in 2020. The series is directed by Kenji Kamiyama (Blade Runner: Black Lotus, upcoming The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim) and Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed, Blade Runner: Black Lotus) and written by Kamiyama. The series features character designs by Ilya Kuvshinov; Yuya Yamaguchi was the animation supervisor; music by Nobuko Toda and Kazuma Jinnouchi with opening and ending themes by millennium parade. Tokyo creative collective Perimetron created the opening sequence.
