As part of the 50th SIGGRAPH computer graphics confab taking place in Los Angeles this week (2023.siggraph.org), the artistic tech wizards at Sony Pictures Animation (The Mitchells vs. the Machines, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse) presented its Sony Creators Conference, spotlighting the studio’s latest groundbreaking accomplishments.
In the presentation “Engineering for Creativity at Sony Pictures Animation,” Yiotis Katsambas, SPA’s Executive Director of Technology and a Distinguished Engineer at Sony Corporation, reveals how the studio leverages production tech tools to enhance creativity, not hinder it.
