Irish Studios Make an Impression at World Animation Summit

Five-time Academy Award-, Golden Globe-, BAFTA- and Emmy-nominated studio Cartoon Saloon (cartoonsaloon.ie) leads a contingent of Enterprise Ireland-supported Irish animation innovators mingling with the global industry in Los Angeles this week during the World Animation Summit.

Known for blending traditional artistry with modern technology in acclaimed features like Wolfwalkers and The Breadwinner, and buoyed by support from Enterprise Ireland (enterprise-ireland.com), Cartoon Saloon’s latest film, My Father’s Dragon, is set to make its global debut on November 11 on Netflix, following recently world premieres in London and Los Angeles.

Cartoon Saloon is one of five stars of the Irish animation community showcasing their work and meeting with industry leaders such as Disney, Netflix, Amazon and others at the Summit. As the VC arm of the Irish government, Enterprise Ireland’s mission is to nurture, fund and support fledgling Irish start-ups like these studios to maturity.

Kavaleer Productions (kavaleer.com). Known for hit shows such as Adam ❤ Adventure, Boy Girl Dog Cat Mouse Cheese, Kiva Can Do and Tackle Your Feelings, Kavaleer is renowned for its inclusion and representation of people with disabilities. Based in Dublin, Kavaleer received Royal Television Society and BAFTA nominations for its work in 2022.

Giant Animation (giantanimation.ie) is based in Dublin, and is an independent CG animation studio dedicated to creating and producing world-class content for TV and film known for its attention to detail and producing premium content, including Geist, Zog and The Flying Doctors, The Overcoat and the Sherwood limited series.
