Cinesite has been awarded animation work for the highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles CG reimagining from Nickelodeon. The film, which is due to hit theaters in 2023, is produced by Point Grey Pictures’ Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, directed by Jeff Rowe (The Mitchells vs. The Machines) and co-directed by Kyler Spears (Amphibia). Cinesite’s crew is led by Barbara Zelinski (producer) and Chris Kazmier (VFX supervisor).
Following Cinesite’s announcement Thursday morning, Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies unveiled the movie’s official title treatment with the official name Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. To mark the occasion, an exclusive mural went up in New York City, letting fans know that they can reconnect with Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michealangelo one year from today when their new CGI-animated adventure hits screens on August 4, 2023.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is the latest animation project to start production at Cinesite following Paramount Pictures’ recently released Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank and MGM’s Addams Family franchise. The studio also remains in production on Aniventure’s upcoming film Hitpig based on characters from Pulitzer Prize-winner Berkeley Breathed’s Pete & Pickles as well as the animated series Iwájú for Disney+.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles feature franchise has accumulated $1.15 billion across six movies from three studios since 1990. The last two movies, released by Paramount and Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes in 2014 and 2016, were live action and together accounted for $730.6 million.
