Today, DreamWorks Animation and Netflix delivered a comedy-adventure knockout with the official trailer, key art and release date reveal for Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight, featuring the return of Jack Black to his iconic film franchise role. The 11 x 22′ CG series premieres exclusively on Netflix on July 14.
Here is the trailer:
Synopsis: When a mysterious pair of weasels set their sights on a collection of four powerful weapons, Po must leave his home to embark on a globe-trotting quest for redemption and justice that finds him partnered up with a no-nonsense English knight named Wandering Blade. Together, these two mismatched warriors set out on an epic adventure to find the magical weapons first and save the world from destruction — and they may even learn a thing or two from each other along the way.
As previously announced, Jack Black returns as the voice of Po, while Rita Ora plays Wandering Blade. James Hong also reprises his beloved Kung Fu Panda character, Mr. Ping. The cast also features Chris Geere and Della Saba as the plotting weasels Klaus and Veruca Dumont, Rahnuma Panthaky as Rukhmini, Ed Weeks as Colin and Amy Hill as Pei Pei.
The DreamWorks Animation-produced series is executive produced by six-time Emmy Award and Peabody-winning writer/producer Peter Hastings (Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness, The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants, Animaniacs), Emmy- and Annie-nominated director/producer/storyboard artist Shaunt Nigoghossian (Blood of Zeus, Transformers Prime, Justic League Action) and ineffable acting, singing and comedy talent, Jack Black. Chris Amick and Ben Mekler are co-executive producers.
