Disney Fetches New Trailer for Pixar’s ‘Dug Days’ Shorts

Just in time for International Dog Day, Disney+ has released an all new trailer and key art for the upcoming Dug Days series by Pixar Animation Studios. Dug Days is a series of shorts that follow the “humorous misadventures of Dug, the lovable dog from Disney and Pixar’s Oscar-winning feature film Up whose high-tech collar translates his thoughts into speech.

The show is written and directed by Oscar-winner Bob Peterson, who also co-wrote and co-directed Up and provides the voice of Dug. Kim Collins is series producer. “Dug is pure of heart—he’s a good soul,” says Peterson.  “I think people enjoy that part of Dug. Plus, people love their dogs. We’ve gone to great lengths to include truth in dog behavior, so they see their own dogs in Dug.”

When coming up with the new adventures for Dug, Peterson had no problems. He kept the idea that this would be Dug’s first time out of Paradise Falls as he worked on the shorts. “Everything is new, and he’s excited about all of it,” he said. “But the smallest things can distract Dug, never mind an actual squirrel.”

All five shorts of Dug Days will debut on Disney+ on September 1. Look for our interview with Peterson and Collins on the site tomorrow.
