Trailer: Netflix ‘Tuca & Bertie’ Leaves the Nest May 3

A fresh hatched take on the adult cartoon genre is about to take wing on Netflix, as Lisa Hanawalt’s Tuca & Bertie brings the hilarious (and tragically relatable) misadventures of two 30-year-old bird-women to streaming viewers. The show stars Tiffany Haddish and Ali Wong as the neighbors and best buds Tuca, a cocky, care-free toucan; and Bertie, an anxious, daydreaming songbird.

The 10-episode first season launches May 3 on Netflix.

Tuca & Bertie is created by Hanawalt, who also exec produces alongside her BoJack Horseman colleagues Raphael Bob-Waksberg, Noel Bright and Steven A. Cohen; Haddish and Wong. The series is produced by Michael Eisner’s The Tornante Company. Animation is by ShadowMachine.

Along with series regulars Haddish, Wong and Steven Yeun, the first season features guest performers such as Nicole Byer, Richard E. Grant, John Early, Reggie Watts, Tig Notaro, Amber Ruffin, Jermaine Fowler and Tessa Thompson.
