The Art Directors Guild held its annual Production Design Awards gala Saturday night in Downtown Los Angeles, honoring winners in 11 categories across live-action and animated feature film, television, commercials and music videos. The Animated Feature category went to Adam Stockhausen and Paul Harrod for the meticulously crafted stop-motion film Isle of Dogs.
Two of the night’s big winners — Hannah Beachler for Black Panther and Fiona Crombie for The Favourite — are nominated for the Academy Award for Production Design (Beachler is the first African-American to receive a nomination in this Oscar category). Isle of Dogs is up in the Best Animated Feature Oscar race.
