The Toronto Animated Image Society announced the Jury Award recipients for its 12th Annual TAIS Animation Showcase this weekend. Screened for an adults-only audience at Toronto’s Royal Cinema, the program featured 18 short films showcasing diverse artistic styles and themes, hailing frmo six different countries: Canada, USA, Costa Rica, UK, China and Taiwan. The event also featuring an AniJam themed on “Fan Fiction,” with 12 micro-shorts presenting creative mashups of familiar characters.
This year’s Showcase jury was comprised of animation artists Amy Lockhart, Paloma Dawkins and Rory Waudby-Tolley. There were also two awards determined by the audience.
