Watch: GKIDS Teases ‘Night Is Short, Walk on Girl’ US Release

GKIDS is serving up another delectable anime entree as part of its 2018 lineup, with visionary director Masaaki Yuasa’s The Night Is Short, Walk on Girl coming to US theaters August 21 and 22 through Fathom Events. The youths-on-the-town comedy will follow sci fi/fantasy Fireworks, screening July 3, 5 and 7.

Both screenings are scheduled for 7 p.m. local time, presented in original Japanese with English subtitles. Accompanying the feature will be an exclusive interview with Yuasa, who is also the mad genius behind Mind Game, Lu Over the Wall and Devilman Crybaby.

Tickets for The Night Is Short, Walk on Girl are available at www.FathomEvents.com or www.NightIsShort.com and participating box offices.

Synopsis: The Night Is Short, Walk on Girl is a comedy about one epic night in Kyoto. As a group of teens go out for a night on the town, a sophomore known only as “The Girl with Black Hair” experiences a series of surreal encounters with the local nightlife. Simultaneously, she is unaware of the romantic longings of Senpai, a fellow student who has been creating increasingly fantastic and contrived reasons to run into her, in an effort to win her heart.

  1. I wish they weren’t Fathom events :/ I would love to not have to stress about only being able to see this for one day.
