In the new trailer for The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part, we are introduced to a dystopian world laid waste by the events of Taco Tuesday, where minifigs of all walks of life have been forced to get tough or get gone — except eternally optimistic everyman Emmet, of course!
The sequel reunites the heroes of Bricksburg to save their city from a huge new threat: LEGO DUPLO invaders from outer space, who wreck everything faster than they can rebuild it. The fight to defeat these agents of chaos will take Emmet, Lucy, Batman and their friends to unexplored worlds — including a strange galaxy where everything is a musical — as they face tests of their courage, creativity, and Master Building skills.
Returning voice stars Chris Pratt (Emmet), Elizabeth Banks (Lucy/Wyldstyle), Will Arnett (Batman), Nick Offerman (MetalBeard), Alison Brie (Princess Unikitty), Charlie Day (Benny the Spaceman), Channing Tatum (Superman) and Jonah Hill (Green Lantern) are joined by Tiffany Haddish (Queen Whatevra Wanabi), Stephanie Beatriz (Sweet Mayhem) and Arturo Castro (Ice Cream Cone).
Directed by Mike Mitchell (Shrek Forever After, Trolls) and Trisha Gum (head of story, The LEGO Batman Movie) from a story by producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller, rewritten by BoJack Horseman creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg. Dan Lin and Roy Lee are also producers. The film is produced by Warner Animation Group, LEGO System, Vertigo Ent., Rideback and Lord Miller Prod.
The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part arrives in theaters February 8, 2019 through Warner Bros.
