The British Academy Children’s Awards proved a ringing success for Cartoon Network, which scooped up three prizes for its animated series at the event in the Animation (The Amazing World of Gumball), Writer (also Gumball) and International (We Bare Bears) categories. Other top animation honors went to Disney’s Zootropolis, a.k.a. Zootopia (Feature Film); Studio AKA’s Hey Duggee (Preschool Animation) and Spin Kick Bros.’ Good as Goaled (Short Form).
“What an incredibly successful evening for Cartoon Network! The Amazing World of Gumball and We Bare Bears are shining examples of everything Cartoon Network stands for: funny, irreverent and unique shows that appeal the world over,” said Ian McDonough, SVP & Managing Director for Turner, Northern Europe. “We are so proud of their success and it’s an honour to see that recognised at the British Academy Children’s Awards.”
