Sony’s animated feature adaptation of Rovio Entertainment’s smash-hit Angry Birds game franchise will feature the voice of Saturday Night Live alumnus Jason Sudeikis as flock leader Red. His co-stars announced Wednesday include Josh Gad as Chuck, Danny McBride as Bomb, Bill Hader as a pig, Maya Rudolph as Matilda and Peter Dinklage as the Mighty Eagle.
Additional members of the cast, which Sony’s theatrical marketing division opted to first reveal to users of the popular app, include fellow SNL star Kate McKinnon, Keegan-Michael Key, Tony Hale, Ike Barinholtz, Hannibal Buress, Cristela Alonzo, Jillian Bell, musician Romeo Santos and YouTube’s Smosh duo — Ian Andrew Hecox and Anthony Padilla.
Angry Birds is set to be released July 1, 2016.
