The official competition of the Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF) came to a close Saturday with the highly anticipated awards ceremony held at St. Brigid’s Centre for the Arts in the capital city. This year’s festival received 2,033 entries from 70 different countries, selecting 101 short films and 5 features — an additional 71 films screened out of competition.
The 2014 OAIF Jury for the Short Program was comprised of Claire Blanchet (Canada), Philip Hunt (U.K.) and Maria Tereschenko (Russia). The Animated Feature Film Competition Jury included David O’Reilly (Ireland), Patrice James (Canada) and Tom Warburton (U.S.) The Best Short Animation for Children Jury was Stephen Fortier, Jacob Bouse and David Cuevas. And the Jury for the Best Animation Series for Children comprised Anna Demarbre, Paige Robert and Callia Bouse.
