Fox will be serving up an interesting animation biz mashup as the season 24 finale of its record-running toon The Simpsons will be an episode featuring the voice of Seth MacFarlane, Entertainment Weekly reports. The creator of Family Guy, American Dad! and The Cleveland Show will try to make a love connection with Marge in “Dangers on a Train” which will premiere May 19.
The show’s exec producer Al Jean says, “We thought we had a great part that he’d be perfect for, and it would be great to have him on our show, so it worked out just right … There’s been a little rivarly [between the shows]. We’re both humor shows and we make jokes, but it’s always been friendly.”
In “Dangers on a Train,” the Simpson family matriarch accidentally ends up on a website for married people seeking to have affairs and attracts the unwanted attentions of Ben (MacFarlane), a super slick guy who tries to lay the charm on Marge, much to Homer’s displeasure. Season 24’s guest star list also includes Steve Carrell, Zooey Deschanel, Tina Fey and Justin Bieber, who will appear in this Sunday’s show.
